Working with SnoCon
What does SnoCon do?
SnoCon is the practice of Hans Snoeren for safety, quality and environment. I deliver training, carry out audits and advise on ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, NEN 7510, VCA and SCL. I work independently, for clients across the Netherlands.
Does SnoCon work with other consultants?
Yes. SnoCon has a partnership with B+E Consultants. I also often work with Marscha van den Eijnden.
Which region does SnoCon serve?
From Loosdrecht, for clients across the Netherlands. Training and audits take place on site; consulting on site or remotely.
Can SnoCon help at short notice?
My calendar is usually booked well ahead, so immediate availability is not guaranteed. For urgent situations it is wise to get in touch early. I will think along toward a solution and plan it honestly.
Does SnoCon help with Labour Inspectorate cases?
Yes. I think along in complex and urgent situations, from investigating an incident to communicating with the inspectorate. Not standard advice, but someone who knows how such cases unfold.
What does a training, audit or consulting engagement cost?
It depends on the question. Training runs by open enrolment or in-company and tailored; audits and consulting on an hourly rate or a fixed price per engagement. Request a quote for a clear price.
Training
Does SnoCon deliver tailored (in-company) training?
Yes. Alongside open enrolment I design training fully to measure, using your own cases and risks. Always interactive, never an off-the-shelf programme.
Who delivers the training?
Hans Snoeren himself. Certified senior safety expert (HVK), lead auditor and lecturer and examiner at Apply Opleidingen. So you have one consistent trainer who knows the field from practice.
Which courses can I take?
Among others internal auditor, implementing management systems, implementing AI, incident and accident investigation, BowTieXP and prevention officer. Both standard and fully tailored.
How do I enrol for a course?
On the training page you choose a course and enrol online. For an in-company or tailored engagement you request a quote.
Audits and certification
What is the difference between an internal and an external audit?
An internal audit tests the management system itself, run by the organisation or by me. An external audit is done by a certification body for the certificate; I can be engaged as auditor for that. A baseline assessment shows up front where you stand.
Does SnoCon guide ISO certification end to end?
Yes, from baseline assessment and building the system through to the certification audit. I deliberately build compact systems that work and last, without an unnecessary paper layer.
Can we combine several ISO standards?
Yes, in an integrated management system. ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 overlap strongly, so much can be shared. That saves maintenance and audit time.
Risk and safety
What is a senior safety expert (HVK)?
The HVK is the highest certified occupational safety expert in the Netherlands, advising at strategic level on complex safety questions, risk control and legislation. Hans Snoeren is a certified HVK.
What is the difference between an HVK and a core expert (kerndeskundige)?
Core expert (kerndeskundige) is the collective term for the four experts designated by the Dutch Working Conditions Act: the senior safety expert (HVK), the occupational hygienist, the work and organisation expert and the occupational physician. Employers must be assisted by them, among other things when reviewing the risk assessment (RI&E). The HVK is the core expert for safety. Every certified HVK is a core expert, but not every core expert is an HVK. Hans Snoeren is a certified HVK and therefore a core expert.
What is the BowTie method?
BowTie shows in a single diagram how an unwanted event can arise and which barriers prevent or limit it. I train in it with BowTieXP and use it in investigation and risk analysis.
Does SnoCon help with incident investigation?
Yes. I investigate incidents and near misses down to the root causes, using methods such as Tripod Beta and BowTie, and deliver an investigation report that holds up.
Must my organisation have a risk assessment (RI&E)?
Almost every employer in the Netherlands is legally required to hold a current risk inventory and evaluation with an action plan. I draw up an RI&E and review existing ones. For the review I work together with two other core experts: a work and organisation expert and an occupational hygienist.
